With the goal to educate an international audience on the pandemic and multidisciplinary complexity surrounding AIDS, Professor Richard Meisler developed a MOOC based on his successful on-campus course. Through this course, learners will understand the biology, politics, economics and sociology of AIDS, which currently affects 35 million people worldwide. This multidisciplinary course encompasses the natural and social sciences, the humanities, the arts and various professions in discussions centered around the implications of HIV and AIDS. Through this breadth of perspectives the course is suitable for a mix of possible applications, and continues to increase international understanding of the disease by broadening access globally.
