Led by Michigan Ross Professors Scott DeRue and Maxim Sytch and in collaboration with leaders from the National Arts Strategies (NAS) and the Ross Executive Education team, the Inspiring and Motivating Arts and Culture Teams MOOC is designed to develop leaders in the arts and culture space. This MOOC builds upon the success of the Leading People and Teams Specialization, which was also developed by Professors DeRue and Sytch, and is based on the U-M Sanger Leadership Center Michigan Model. It focuses on equipping senior leaders of arts and culture organizations and/or nonprofits with the critical skills for inspiring employee engagement and performance while motivating people to adjust behavior and embrace change. This MOOC focuses on core leadership strategy, best practices for developing a team vision, communicating team visions through non-verbal cues, goal setting and setting drivers for performance. Additionally, this MOOC serves as an online education resource for a Michigan Ross custom Executive Education course, which provides a blended learning approach to arts, culture and nonprofit organization leaders, while the course videos have been integrated into the NAS Senior Management Institute.
