Professor Charles Severance developed Python for Everybody as a Specialization to teach fundamental concepts of Python programming and to expand upon the success of the Programming for Everybody MOOC, which reached 658,000 lifelong learners. Python for Everybody introduces Python programming to the novice learner through a series of five courses including a capstone in which students build a program to retrieve, process and visualize data sets. The Specialization covers the fundamentals of python programming, emphasizing data analysis and covering data gathering, data cleaning and data visualization. In addition to the basics of Python programming, other crucial areas including standards for user accessibility are addressed. This introduction to Python equips global, lifelong learners with the skills to become confident Python programmers and feel equipped to pursue more advanced programming courses while providing study materials on Python programming to be used on campus.
