Building off of the success of the Questionnaire Design for Social Surveys MOOC, Professors Fred Conrad and James Lepkowski from University of Michigan and Frauke Kreuter and Richard Valliant from University of Maryland collaborated on this Specialization to delve further into the fundamentals of survey design and analysis. The Specialization teaches techniques centered on market research, evaluation research, social science, political research and official government statistics. From these techniques, discussions are explored surrounding questionnaire design, data collection methods, sampling design, dealing with missing values, combining data from different sources and the analysis of survey data. The intercollegiate collaboration provides a unique and integrated curriculum that presents core information and professional level training for collecting and analyzing survey data from social media and other information sources while creating video content for course instruction on both campuses.
