Christopher Brooks

Director of Learning Analytics and Research

Role: Christopher directs research and learning analytics at Academic Innovation with a focus on educational technology, learning analytics and educational data mining. Through his role, he connects the innovative and practical work conducted between Academic Innovation and faculty innovators with the broader international scholarly community. In addition to his work with Academic Innovation, Christopher serves as faculty in the School of Information.

Experience: Previous to his work with Academic Innovation, Christopher served as a Postdoctoral Associate for the U-M School of Information and conducted research focused on understanding how learning analytics can be applied to human computer interaction through educational data mining, machine learning, and information visualization. Additionally, his research on traditional residential campus environments, online tools, and learners interacting through Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), how educational technologies impact student success, and how quantitative approaches can be used to better understand learning experiences.
