All content for these courses is completely free without a certificate. All donations made and proceeds from Teach-Out certificate purchases to U-M will be used to support future U-M Teach-Outs.
First and foremost, you can join new Teach-Outs as they take place: the larger and more diverse the community is, the more everyone involved will learn. If you wish to contribute financially to the creation of Teach-Outs, you can either sign up for a paid certificate on edX, or donate to support the U-M Teach-Out Series.
We are very interested in your ideas, both for new Teach-Outs and ways to make our Teach-Outs better! Fill out the form on this page or click on this link to submit your idea.
Yes! Our faculty are actively working to develop new Teach-Outs. Check back here and on edX to learn about these new opportunities as they are announced.
Teach-Outs combine the best of just-in-time learning experiences and community events . They were created to bring together a community of experts from the University of Michigan and the general public to explore, learn and discuss pressing issues on the national and international stage.
A Teach-Out is:
- an event – it takes place over a fixed, short period of time
- an opportunity – it is open for free participation to everyone around the world
- a community – it will be joined by a large number of diverse individuals
- a conversation – an opportunity to give and take ideas and information from people
Teach-Outs are short learning experiences, each focused on a specific current issue. They are open to the world and are designed to bring together individuals with wide-ranging perspectives in respectful and deep conversation.
