Event Details

The National Center for Institutional Diversity (NCID) and the Center for Academic Innovation (CAI) are excited to partner on this new series of workshops, Amplifying the Impact of Your Anti-Racist and Racial Justice Work. The series will provide scholars at the University of Michigan an opportunity to explore how their anti-racist research can be better understood and amplified using different modes of public engagement.

The first workshop will support scholars to explore how different forms of public engagement can amplify the impact of their anti-racist research. Through a combination of reflection activities, small group discussions, and large group discussions, you will:

  • Reflect on your previous experiences connecting your anti-racist scholarship to wider publics
  • Prioritize the impact that you would like to make with your public engagement around anti-racist scholarship
  • Strategize how best to leverage your strengths and assets to meet your public engagement goals
By the end of the interactive workshop, we hope that you will gain a deeper understanding of how to align your scholarly and public engagement goals by maximizing your strengths and available resources, ultimately amplifying your public impact.

The workshop will be facilitated by Elyse Aurbach, public engagement lead at CAI, and Mary Rose, Anti-Racism Collaborative program manager at NCID.
