Academic Innovation Virtual Event

Event Details

In celebration of Women’s History Month, we reflect on the changing definitions practices within the feminist movement and how we can engage in our own communities to create change in the Feminism: From Origins to Evolution Teach-Out,. This live panel discussion will further the intergenerational conversation about contemporary feminism and how to work for gender equality.

We’ve invited back Professor Ketra Armstrong, PhD, from the U-M School of Kinesiology and Director of the Center for Race and Ethnicity in Sport, and Melanie Manos, interdisciplinary artist and Lecturer II from the U-M STAMPS School of Art and Design. They will be joined by students from the Gender Consciousness Project, a program where students from the University of Michigan work with girls in local high schools facilitating dialogue around gender, race, and identity, to answer learner questions about feminism and community work collected from our Teach-Out learners and live from participants!

The Center for Academic Innovation (CAI) is committed to ensuring that our meetings and events are accessible to all individuals. This event will be using Zoom. Please let us know how we can ensure that this event is inclusive to you. What accommodations or access needs can we help facilitate?
