Academic Innovation Virtual Event

Event Details

Join Professor Patrick Barry of the University of Michigan Law School as he and his students examine the mechanics and strategy behind effective law review articles and other academic research papers. Once you understand the basic structure of these documents, generating the right content becomes a lot easier.

Wednesday, October 21
12-1 p.m. ET

This event is a preview of the “Good with Words: Writing and Editing” online course series and comes with the special bonus of taking place within one of Professor Barry’s actual courses at Michigan. So if you are not interested in learning how to write better research papers but you are interested in getting to see the Socractic give-and-take of a (virtual) law school classroom, you are certainly welcome to attend.

Meet Professor Patrick Barry, JD/PhD

An All-American soccer player in college, Professor Barry is the author of Good with Words: Writing and Editing as well the series The Syntax of Sports. He has won several teaching awards, including the Provost’s Innovation in Teaching Prize, the Wayne Booth Prize for Teaching Excellence, and the Outstanding Research Mentor Award. He also regularly works with law firms, state governments, and nonprofit organizations to improve their written and spoken advocacy.

*This virtual event will be recorded for educational and archival purposes, but it will not be shared with participants.
