Event Details
Join us on Wednesday, July 19 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Hatcher Gallery Lab for a presentation by Megan Taylor, Research Associate for the Office of Academic Innovation. Megan will share her undergraduate thesis research, “A Two-Lane Road: The Pathway between Rural America and Higher Education” and discuss how it relates to Academic Innovation’s ‘Intend to Attend’ initiative.
Proposed by University of Michigan Professors Mika Lavaque-Manty, Tim McKay, and Joanna Millunchick, ‘Intend to Attend’ aims to use digital tools to create college preparation programming that is scalable and personalizable. The preliminary design for Intend to Attend imagines three interdependent elements: a wide array of learning opportunities, a richly tailored electronic coaching system, and a four-year gameful college preparation environment. Following the presentation, participants will have an opportunity for continued conversation and brainstorming.
All instructors and staff who have interest in learning more about the ‘Intend to Attend’ initiative or who are interested in college preparation programming are welcomed to attend.
