Event Details

Join us on Friday, December 2 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Office of Academic Innovation space in the Hatcher Graduate Library (8th floor of Hatcher South) for Innovation Hour, a gathering at the Office of Academic Innovation hosted two times per month featuring a different theme each session. Academic Innovation welcomes faculty, students and staff to stop by, discuss ideas, share experiences, have your questions answered and meet members of the Academic Innovation team.

From 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. during this Innovation Hour, members of the Exploring Innovation in the Residential Experience Design Group will convene an informal conversation on the theme of “Communities of Practice.”

  • What are unique models for residential education currently being piloted around campus?
  • How might we scale these models so that all U-M learners engage in problem based, interdisciplinary, intergenerational learning?

Participants are encouraged to share their vision for the ideal academic community by contributing an experience, idea or recommendation to the Ideas2017 Challenge during the Innovation Hour.
