Event Details

Join us on Friday, March 17 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Digital Education & Innovation Lab (500 E. Washington) for Innovation Hour, a gathering hosted by the Office of Academic Innovation two times per month featuring a different theme each session.

During this Innovation Hour, Dr. Chuck Severance (Clinical Associate Professor of Information at the School of Information) will facilitate an informal demo and brainstorm session on Tsugi, a digital tool-hosting environment based on emerging interoperability standards for Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Are you interested in Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) and the Next Generation Digital Learning Environment? The Tsugi project provides library and database code to receive and model incoming LTI data, allowing for the independent development and hosting of educational applications that can easily be integrated into an LMS. Come to this Innovation Hour for a quick demo of Tsugi, followed by a group brainstorm session about how to describe and promote Tsugi’s features and functions to potential users.

From 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Academic Innovation welcomes faculty, students and staff to stop by for our unstructured “drop-in” time. Discuss ideas, share experiences, have questions answered and/or meet members of the Academic Innovation team.

We also invite you to share your vision for the ideal academic community by contributing an experience, idea or recommendation to the Ideas2017 Challenge during the Innovation Hour.
