Event Details

Join us on Friday, December 16 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Digital Education & Innovation Lab (500 E. Washington) for Innovation Hour, a gathering at the Office of Academic Innovation hosted two times per month featuring a different theme each session. Academic Innovation welcomes faculty, students and staff to stop by, discuss ideas, share experiences, have your questions answered and meet members of the Academic Innovation team.

During the last Innovation Hour of the term, we will host informal programming for each of the three hours:

9-10 a.m.: Recapping and Turning to Action
We will recap each of the topics covered during Innovation Hour this term (Transcript of the Future, Accessibility, Engaging Alumni in Innovative Ways, and New Models for Interdisciplinary, Problem-Based Residential Education) and talk about what kinds of events or experiments we’d like to see launched next term to move the conversation on each topic forward.

10-11 a.m.: New Year’s Resolutions for Innovation in the Bicentennial Year
We will think through our individual and group goals for the discussions that will occur over the course of the next year at U-M. What are the conversations we want to make sure happen? What can we do, as innovators on campus, to call attention to the issues and ideas that matter most to us? How will we know if we are meeting these goals?

11 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Ideas2017 Challenge Power Hour
During this hour we’ll engage in casual conversation about what experiments we’d like to see seeded at U-M and what ideas we have for how to enhance the culture of innovation at Michigan. Share your ideas, recommendations or experiences in the Ideas2017 Challenge.
