Event Details

Are you interested in working with students from other disciplines to create a tool for a real world healthcare client? Would you like to get more experience engaging in a design thinking process with real world potential?

Join us on Friday, October 13th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the TechArb and Digital Education and Innovation Lab (500 E. Washington) for a special multidisciplinary design jam for students representing diverse disciplines like public health, information, law, and more.

Interdisciplinary teams will design a tool that helps patients understand how the personal data they provide to medical professionals impacts their access to care and medication. Final designs will recognize the importance of informed decision-making for the individual, and consequences of individual patient choices on the broader population served, while not impeding in any significant way on the efforts of care-providers to serve their patients.

While you’re designing you will spend time with Digital Innovation Greenhouse (DIG) mentors who specialize in behavioral science and user experience design, while also collaborating and networking with students from other disciplines, as well as U-M faculty and staff.

Sponsored by the Office of Academic Innovation (DIG), University of Michigan Law School, School of Public Health and the School of Information.

Dinner and beverages will be served.

Registration for this event is now closed.
