Event Details

Join us on Friday, October 20 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Room 1220 of Weill Hall (735 S. State St.) for Traveling Innovation Hour, a gathering co-hosted by the Office of Academic Innovation two times per month featuring a different theme and campus location each session.

Traveling Innovation Hours are informal discussions in which participants discuss a topic or open question related to teaching and learning in higher education that is particularly relevant to the host programs.

This Traveling Innovation Hour will focus on teaching and learning concerns of U-M’s Ford School of Public Policy and Law School. Faculty, staff, and students of these programs are especially welcome to attend. Elisabeth Gerber (Ford) and Michael Bloom (Law) will facilitate a conversation on ways to improve applied learning projects that involve student-client engagement.

  • What are some of the challenges of facilitating student-client interactions in the intensive, applied projects characteristic of some of the classes and programs in Law and Public Policy?
  • What kinds of tools or approaches might help with navigating those challenges?
  • What role might technology play in making the student-client engagement experience more useful for instructors, learners, and clients?

We look forward to hearing your thoughts!

All are welcome to attend. Please register below to help us plan for refreshments. Registration is not required for attendance.
