Academic Innovation Virtual Event

Event Details

Globally, 9% of the world goes hungry each year. Hunger is on the rise, even as average levels of wealth have increased, as the world enjoys unprecedented prosperity, and as enough food is produced to feed over 10 billion people. The problem of hunger globally is so acute that the World Food Program received this year’s Nobel Peace Prize; they won the prize both in recognition of the urgency of the problem of hunger and their efforts to address the problem. The continued existence of widespread hunger, even in rich countries, is all the more distressing because the means to eliminate hunger are within our grasp. This webinar will focus on world hunger and how to address it, with particular attention to hunger, food production, and poverty.
