University of Michigan-Ann Arbor faculty from all schools and colleges are encouraged to apply to the Public Engagement Faculty Fellowship— including Lecturers III and IV, tenured and tenure-track faculty, research faculty, curatorial faculty, and clinical faculty. The program is designed for faculty who are interested in reflecting deeply on past and future public engagement efforts, and is most appropriate for individuals who are interested in experimenting in or leveling up their public engagement practice. All levels of experience with public engagement are welcome. Faculty interested in working in all forms of public engagement are welcome.

There are two tracks to participating in the Public Engagement Faculty Fellowship: as a Fellow, and as a Mentor Fellow.

Faculty who are interested in significant learning or experimentation, with the goal of exploring different forms of engaged work in order to try something new in their practice.

  • Receive $1500 as discretionary research funds for successfully completing the Studio Experience
  • Are eligible to apply for up to $10,000 and in-kind support during Phase 2

Mentor Fellows
