I chose to work at the Center for Academic Innovation because I am driven by connecting technology, education, and interdisciplinary thinking to create meaningful solutions. I have always been passionate about uncovering the underlying connections between seemingly unrelated fields—an interest I first explored through math and art, and now apply to emerging technologies. I love exploring technological innovations with a collaborative team that empower both learners and educators.
Amanda is an Experiential Technologies Project Manager at the Center for Academic Innovation, where she leads projects in extended reality (XR) and generative AI (GenAI) aimed at enhancing teaching and learning. Drawing on leading software development methodologies (Agile, Lean, HCD), Amanda works collaboratively with faculty and a cross-functional team to develop solutions that enhance the learning experience through immersive technology.
Before joining the Center for Academic Innovation, Amanda worked as a Product Manager at FordLabs, where she focused on rapid software ideation, prototyping, and development. She gained diverse experience in management and design as a Program Manager at Interplai, where she worked to establish an integrated system of SaaS applications for managing self-driving delivery robots and route-optimization software. Alongside her technology and management roles, Amanda teaches mathematics and statistics at Washtenaw Community College.
