I chose to work at the Center for Academic Innovation for its mission on expanding educational access, and advancing the field of educational technology. Academic Innovation was a place I could see myself bridging my passion of learning design and project management that aligns with reaching a global audience for the next generation of learners. I also can’t forget about the people; Academic Innovation fosters a collaborative work environment that is nurturing, challenging, and above all, fun! Having the opportunity to work with individuals who are not only cool, but bright and insightful, allow me to learn and grow from my fellow colleagues each day.
Jae Schueren is a Design Manager in the Center for Academic Innovation where he applies his background in learning and development, learning design, project management to provide innovative ways to create online learning experiences. His work focuses on collaborating with AI partners and Michigan Faculty by providing design and project management expertise from scoping to project launch within the AI MOOC portfolio.
Prior to joining the Center for Academic Innovation, Jae began his professional journey with the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program at UM-LSA. Jae’s background includes working in Learning and Development in the corporate world, Project Management in Performance Management start-ups, and facilitating trainings in FinTech field.
Jae is a Michigander at heart by way of Ohio and the Pacific Northwest. Jae has over 5-years of experience in learning and development, program coordination, and project management with an emphasis in strengths-based coaching and leadership training.
