Why I Choose to Work at Academic Innovation

At the Center for Academic Innovation, I’m able to help bring ideas, people and perspectives together in new ways to develop innovative partnerships and programs. It connects so many of my passions! I get to work with a creative, talented, diverse group of people – in the CAI team, across the university and with external organizations and industry – to share educational experiences with a wider audience, serve our local and global community, and explore the future of higher education.

Current Roles/Previous Experience

As Strategic Partnerships Lead, Janelle and the Partnership Development team are responsible for creating and refining strategies for developing a high-quality pipeline of new open learning initiatives, as well as building and cultivating partnerships both within U-M and with external organizations (industry, governments, NGOs, etc.)

Prior to joining CAI, Janelle served as Chief of Staff to the Office of the Provost at UM-Dearborn, working with teams across Academic Affairs, Enrollment Management and Student Affairs. She previously spent 12 years in the UK and Prague, Czech Republic, in international higher education.
