Jen Vetter

Design Management Lead

Why I choose to work at Academic Innovation:

I came to Academic Innovation in the beginning of 2017, looking for a new challenge after 10 years in the custom training & development space. Today, I work closely with other teams on a daily basis to create, plan, design, problem-solve, and implement, and my love of learning and for people has made AI the ideal environment for me. My favorite aspects of life at Academic Innovation include hearing learner stories of success and transformation, and meeting diverse groups and individuals across the U-M campus and community. (As well as launching projects on time, in scope, and with a bit of happiness all around!)

Current Roles/Previous Experience:

As the Design Management Team Lead, I facilitate our team’s work with other Academic Innovation units and with external stakeholders in and around the University. My role also prioritizes implementing the vision and strategy for our online learning portfolio into our current design and development cycles. As a Design Manager, I work directly with faculty, staff, and stakeholders to bring online learning initiatives from a successful start to a timely and scoped launch.

Previously, I served as the senior instructional project manager at TorranceLearning, leading project management, resource scheduling, and instructional design for the company’s largest engagements in corporate, non-profit, and higher education environments. My background includes a broad range of experiences in elearning, media development, instructor-led training and LMS administration. I also have over 15 years’ experience in event planning and administration.
