“I choose to work in the Center for Academic Innovation because in my view, learning is fundamentally important to human development at all stages. I wanted to explore how to create opportunities in the field of teaching and learning, at different life stages.”
Monica’s role focuses on partnering with faculty to develop proposals for a high-quality learning experience across the Center for Academic Innovation’s portfolio of online initiatives. She also works with organizations to create partnerships incorporating U-M course content into learning and development goals.
Prior to joining U-M, her experience began in a student role at a university where she worked in distance education to launch online degrees. She then began working in the field of marketing and communications, where she spent over a decade developing brand strategy and various types of campaigns and promotions.
When Monica found the Educational Studies program at U-M, she decided to pivot my career back toward online learning. She completed a degree with a focus in new media and new literacies and joined the Center for Academic Innovation where she has continued to learn about research, design, and implementation in a real-time environment.
