Ryan Henyard

Learning Experience Designer for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice

Why I choose to work at Academic Innovation:

My time at the University of Michigan has largely been spent finding uncommon paths through the disciplinary landscape, and I always aim to apply knowledge from those different spaces to what I wanted to do next. The one consistent thread connecting all of my experiences has been a desire to make a positive impact, and Academic Innovation is an incredible place that supports transformative possibilities in higher education.

Current Roles/Previous Experience:

As the LXD for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice, Ryan consults with faculty and CAI teams during the ideation phase of a project – prior to faculty proposal submission – to appropriately integrate Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) perspectives into a potential project’s scope. In addition, he supports the Partnership Development team in establishing partnerships between the Center and non-profit and community-based organizations.
