Why I choose to work at Academic Innovation:

Not long ago, I was a UMich student myself. During that two years of master study, I benefited tremendously from AI products, including ART 2.0 (now Atlas) and a bunch MOOC courses held on edX and Coursera. That served as the motivation for my initial application for a student fellow position, which then turned out to be an awesome journey. Not only did it help me improve my professional skills, aka programming, but it also comforted my strained emotion (master program can be quite stressful…) which was a lifesaver at that time. I got to knew a bunch nice people here who are always generous with their help. And the lighting of the office is just impeccable!
Great people + meaningful projects + great office environment -> Why would I not want to stay?

Current Roles/Previous Experience:

My current role in Academic Innovation is a software developer working on Tandem. My main job happens on the backend side, but I also help our UX designer/frontend developer with some Javascript stuff.
Previously as a student developer fellow, I worked on ART 2.0 (now Atlas) as a backend developer, which mainly involves implementing some new features and refactoring code.
Before coming to Michigan, I had worked as an engineering intern in the maintenance department of MTR Corp. which now seems unrelated other than reminding me of what a great job I have now. :
