Media Technology and Operations Fellow

Pay Rate: Undergraduate $17/hr, Master’s $20/hr, Doctoral $23/hr
Job Duration: 10-15 hours/week for fall 2024 term, with the possibility of extending the fellowship

Who We’re Looking For:

The Creative Studios team is looking for a student to support and participate in operational and technical activities at the Center for Academic Innovation. This role reports directly to the Technical Innovation and Platform Lead.

What You’ll Do:

  • Operations Duties (cleaning, organizing, equipment maintenance and checkout, documentation)
  • Basic technical support, computer software updates, and computer maintenance
  • Systems and process documentation, design, and improvement
  • Research and development of physical and software tools, training resources, and job aids

Skills You’ll Gain

Students will develop new skills and knowledge in media technology and operations, including physical asset management, studio functions and maintenance, process and systems design and improvement, technical support, and operational production assistance. Students will gain experience using GenAI to enhance and increase the effectiveness of technical and operational systems, processes, and technologies.

Students will also have opportunities to learn about emerging technologies and media practices, including those related to Extended Reality, Virtual Production, Network Audio/Video, Robotic Cameras, as well as Control Room Technology & Operations, Server Room Technology, and other related systems and standards.
