XR Research Fellow

Pay Rate: Undergraduate $17/hr, Master’s $20/hr, Doctoral $23/hr
Job Duration: 10-15 hours for fall term, with the possibility of extending the fellowship

Who we’re looking for:

The XR team is looking for a student who is independent, detail-oriented, and reliable to help us analyze a portfolio of Extended Reality (XR) initiatives at the Center for Academic Innovation at the University of Michigan. The fellow will assist the XR Projects Lead by scoping research questions, conducting surveys and interviews, analyzing quantitative and qualitative information, and developing reports for diverse stakeholders and audiences. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Co-design a research project evaluating XR initiatives conducted from 2019-2023
  • Gather information from faculty partners, contributors, and learners through surveys and interviews
  • Interpret and analyze data from various sources that will evaluate impact and support decision-making within the XR portfolio
  • Prepare and present reports and findings to key stakeholders

Student Qualifications:

  • Experience in social science research, communications, public engagement, educational technology, instructional design, project management, or a related field
  • Experience creating surveys and designing and conducting interviews
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting qualitative and/or quantitative data
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • A demonstrated ability to be self-directed and work independently
