Peter Arashiro

Learning Experience Designer

Role: Drawing from research in the fields of instructional design, cognitive psychology, and information technology, Peter works alongside faculty in the design and development of online learning experiences. His goal is to bring together the best of faculty expertise and research-based online teaching and learning strategies to create the most effective, efficient, and engaging learning experiences possible for students.

Experience: Peter’s experience in online learning and instruction spans over two decades, working in K-12 and higher education sectors, designing online courses, developing delivery systems, and managing development teams. As an instructional design practitioner, his practice has been shaped by research from the fields of instructional design, cognitive psychology, and information technology. Prior to joining the AI team, Peter served as Executive Director of Instructional Product Development for Michigan Virtual where he oversaw course design, development, and quality.
