Benjamin Morse

Design Manager

Role: Benjamin collaborates with faculty, course teams and external partners to scope, design and build digital learning initiatives in the Office of Academic Innovation. In his role as Design Manager, he utilizes expertise from a diverse set of educators and content creators to ensure high-quality and expedient delivery of a variety of digital learning initiatives. In addition, Benjamin contributes to Academic Innovation's efforts in public engagement and just-in-time learning initiatives.

Experience: Prior to his role in Academic Innovation, Benjamin co-founded a social enterprise in equitable transportation in Detroit, Michigan. In this role, he co-created innovative solutions with an array of diverse stakeholders using human-centered design techniques and participatory development tools. Before becoming a social entrepreneur, Benjamin was a student member of an interdisciplinary course team that developed the “Act on Climate” MOOC with Academic Innovation. Prior to this time at U-M, Benjamin served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ethiopia where he worked to address food security through community-initiated projects and workshops.
