Evan Straub

Online Faculty Development Program Manager

Role: Evan is leading the development of the Online Teaching Academy to support faculty who are preparing to teach online at U-M. The Online Teaching Academy plays a key role in preparing and supporting faculty members who are creating new courses, programs and other learning experiences for online and hybrid students at U-M. Supporting her work is Evan's research in teacher education, innovation adoption and understanding the role of motivation and affect in learning and learning technologies.

Experience: Prior to joining the Online and Hybrid Programs team, Evan worked in Academic Innovation in the learning experience design team where she partnered with faculty and students using gameful pedagogies and GradeCraft. Evan’s history with education innovation started at the Ohio State University where she worked with faculty to support educational technology and has consulted in program evaluation, technical writing and data visualization. Prior to joining University of Michigan, she has worked as a researcher, an online teacher and a policy advocate for instructional technology at the national level.
