Lyndsay Wing

Learning Experience Designer

Why I Choose to Work at Academic Innovation:

“The people and projects are the best parts of working at Academic Innovation. I am blown away by the variety and depth of the talents of my AI colleagues. We are a group with a wide range of interests and I can always find someone to talk to about any topic! This group comes together to create the most amazing projects too. The range of projects we work on is impressive and I’m so delighted to be a part of a team that produces such quality experiences for our learners.”

Current Roles/Previous Experience:

Lyndsay is a Learning Experience Designer at the Center for Academic Innovation, where she works with a variety of stakeholders to craft student-centered learning experiences that are engaging, rigorous, and aligned to learning objectives. She employs various learning design models including Understanding by Design and Universal Design for Learning, while drawing on her own experiences as a classroom teacher. Her interests include community building in the online and residential classroom, access to education, and teacher preparation.

Prior to my arrival at the Center, Lyndsay was an Instructional Designer and Educational Technologist for a small, private college. In this role she honed my learning experience design skills and applied my knowledge of educational pedagogy and technology in a higher education setting. She began her career in the K-12 environment where she taught 5th grade. While in this role Lyndsay cultivated a love for adult learning pedagogies while mentoring and coaching novice teachers. This ultimately led her to change focus and pursue opportunities in higher education.
