The Center for Academic Innovation is home to six production studios used to create online courses and special projects with campus partners.
Our facilities include an XR studio that utilizes virtual production and can incorporate XR technologies, a versatile black box studio, and four lecture-capture studios.

XR Studio
Our XR Studio, Studio X, is an advanced multimedia production environment featuring LED screens that create immersive virtual landscapes, ideal for interactive learning experiences and dynamic presentations.
Used for: Immersive simulations, interactive lectures, placing instructors in virtual environments, or incorporating extended reality elements
Features: 42’ x 36’ studio equipped with 28’ x 10’ White Light SmartStage®, media server, multiple 6K cinema cameras, camera tracking system, moving lights, multitrack audio recording, teleprompter, and camera switcher
Black Box Studio
Studio A is a versatile, configurable performance black box studio space with minimalist design, allowing for flexible use in various productions and educational demonstrations.
Used for: Productions including multiple people on camera, including group instruction, panel discussions, demonstrations, or dramatizations
Features: 34’ x 20’ studio equipped with multiple cinema cameras, professional lighting grid, multitrack audio recording, and teleprompter
Lecture Studios
The lecture studios offer a compact setup for single-person presentations, where the speaker’s performance can be combined with visual aids in real time to enhance content delivery.
Used for: Presentations, monologues, or interviews with a remote participant
Features: Compact studios (approximately 17’ x 10’) equipped with two cinema cameras, professional lighting and audio setups, teleprompter, and drawing tablet for annotation
