Becky Matz

Research Scientist

Why I Choose to Work at Academic Innovation

I wanted to come work at the Center for Academic Innovation because of the exciting opportunities for doing research across different units within the Center as well as the university more generally. I was also interested in a unit where I could hone my own research skills in service of, ultimately, supporting student learning and success for Michigan students. I’m looking forward to all the professional growth that will come with this new team!

Current Roles/Previous Experience

As a Research Scientist, Becky helps support and direct research projects across Academic Innovation’s portfolio of educational technologies and online learning experiences.

Prior to working with Academic Innovation, Becky was an Academic Specialist in Research in the Hub for Innovation in Learning and Technology and the CREATE for STEM Institute at Michigan State University. There she focused on STEM education assessment and research, connecting faculty with data, and developing tools for interdisciplinary assessment in introductory science courses.
