Pay Rate: Undergraduate $17/hr

Who We’re Looking For:

The Center for Academic Innovation – Finance team is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented student fellow who is interested in gaining hands-on experience supporting financial operations. The ideal candidate is a quick learner who works well in a collaborative environment, communicates effectively, and demonstrates a strong sense of responsibility and commitment. Candidates should have experience using Microsoft Excel functions and be comfortable working carefully with financial data and reports. This role is a great fit for a student who is organized, attentive to detail, and eager to develop practical experience in finance and budgeting.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Collect previous years’ financial information related to CAI initiatives, such as faculty stipends, initial development costs, etc.  
  • Prepare monthly budget vs expense reports for CAI domains/units
  • Assist with quarterly MOOC royalty payment calculation (cost calculation and entering those costs in the tracker)
  • Assist with urgent projects or assignments if needed.
  • Process improvement using AI for….
  • Regularly participate in Student Fellowship Program (SFP) events, professional development sessions, workshops, and community-building activities.

Student Qualifications:

  • Current U-M undergraduate student enrolled in a degree program at the Ann Arbor campus, with junior-level or higher
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, with the ability to organize, manage, and work accurately with information and data
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Dependable and reliable, with the ability to follow through on assigned responsibilities and meet deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to learn new tools, processes, and techniques and apply them effectively to assigned work
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements, priorities, and project needs
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a dependable member of a team
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and problem-solve when encountering challenges
