The center has built and nurtured several tools that have since graduated and are supported by other units and organizations. Many are now reaching new audiences, and their features have been adopted into other initiatives.

Developed to facilitate the creation and delivery of role-playing simulations inside and outside the classroom, ViewPoint transitioned into its next phase of growth in 2023 through a licensing agreement with Summit Venture Studio.
Sage provided students with mental health resources following their participation in the Healthy Minds Study at U-M and retired in 2019.
MWrite is a write-to-learn platform that helps students connect complex course concepts to real-life problems through writing exercises created by instructors. This tool transitioned to the university’s ITS Teach and Learning sector in 2017 and is currently managed by the Sweetland Center for Writing.
Student Explorer, launched in 2011, was an early warning system that provided advisors with actionable data based on students’ grades, activity, and assignments, helping advisors facilitate student success. The tool was officially sunset in 2023, but similar features are being added to ECoach as of 2024.
Gradecraft is a learning management system that helps instructors design engaging courses that empower students to take control of their learning.
Lettersmith is a writing support tool that allows students to engage with their writing on a deeper level and receive essential feedback from experts and peers to improve their work.
Spire helps students plan and track their academic and professional experiences, build key competencies, and assemble all the pieces to tell their story, their way – to employers and beyond.
ECoach provides richly tailored feedback and support by offering individualized feedback, tips, and support to facilitate their success.
Problem Roulette encourages students to practice past examination questions, provides feedback on their progress, and helps them improve their study habits.
The Michigan Tailoring System is an authoring platform for tailored communications, allowing writers to turn any data into richly personalized messages for users in other web-based tools.
