Why I Choose to Work at Academic Innovation

I work at the Center for Academic Innovation because I am passionate about staff development and a culture of continuous learning. I believe in our mission to expand learning opportunities within the University of Michigan and in the world through innovation and collaboration.

Current Roles/Previous Experience

Ana leads human resources management and organizational development for the Center. She works collaboratively with the Center’s Operations team and partners closely with the Provost office and the University of Michigan central HR colleagues to ensure compliance with key university human resources policies and procedures. In addition, Ana partners with the U-M Organizational Learning colleagues in staff development projects and diversity, equity and inclusion efforts. She has extensive experience in change management, communication and planning in organizations and is passionate about developing others by using a strengths-based approach. Ana works closely with the Academic Innovation leadership team to create career development opportunities and professional growth for all team members. She also provides career coaching and individual development plan guidance for team members.

Prior to Ana’s role at Academic Innovation, she held positions in various areas at the University Michigan including Student Affairs, the Stephen M. Ross School of Business and the Center for Health and Research Transformation in Michigan Medicine where she managed all HR operations, employee engagement and organizational development functions.
