Anne Bowlby

Partnerships Manager

Why I Choose to Work at Academic Innovation

I grew up in rural Michigan and I strongly believe in the equity CAI provides by creating incredible content and truly making it accessible to all. I’m proud to play a small role in bringing knowledge to anybody that wants it, no matter where they are in their life. And as a naturally curious person who has always loved learning, having the opportunity to give people access to industry leaders and educators so they can pursue their own curiosities is an incredible privilege.

Current Roles/Previous Experience

As a Partnerships Manager, Anne works to identify, develop, and maintain relationships with prospective internal and external partners. She helps scope and assist in the development of new open learning initiative proposals with faculty and internal teams for short form content, Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), and MOOC series as well as external industry partners to identify, develop and co-create content for open learning initiatives. Additionally, she helps pursue and support innovative initiatives, partnerships and content to increase engagement among U-M students, alumni, faculty and staff who might use Michigan Online as a source for lifelong learning, curriculum supplements, and professional development.

Prior to joining CAI, Anne worked for Wayne State University in the division of Development & Alumni Affairs as an Alumni Relations Officer and a Major Gifts Officer. Before working in higher education, she worked in professional sports as the Community Relations Manager with the Detroit Red Wings for six seasons planning and implementing community impact programs and initiatives on behalf of the NHL, the team, and players.
