Current Roles/Previous Experience

Ben is the Director for Software Development and User Experience Design. His responsibilities include setting technical vision and strategy for Academic Innovation as well as overseeing the design, development and operational efforts across the AI Software portfolio. Ben provides leadership in application architecture, project prioritization, expansion assessment and scoping development cycles.

Ben directs the efforts of the Software Development, User Experience Design and Software Operations teams and collaborates with other members of Academic Innovation Leadership as well as campus and external partners to construct and scale innovative educational applications into enterprise services that are available across the University of Michigan and partner institutions.

Prior to joining AI, Ben worked for the U-M Center for Health Communication Research where he led development on a suite of native apps and web applications ranging from game development to surgery decision aids.
