The Center for Academic Innovation strives to meet learners where they are in their journeys and help them fulfill their passion for knowledge. With such a deep understanding of the needs of their learners, you can genuinely see the attention to detail everyone at the center puts forward to creating the best experiences for the broader Michigan community — and the global learning community at large. Supporting an organization that cares so deeply about making learning accessible to anyone was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.
Briana Johnson works as a marketing copywriter for the Center for Academic Innovation. She works to maintain brand voice across the website, newsletters, and other marketing assets and provides collaborative feedback to team projects. Briana previously worked at the University of Michigan Press, supporting the publicity and outreach efforts for over 75 books a year. In addition, she collaborated with the marketing department to create seasonal sales campaigns, book giveaways, and social media strategies.
Additionally, she helped to promote the Press’ Open Access books – an array of titles openly accessible and free to read to anyone in the world. While an undergraduate at the University of Michigan, she worked as a peer writing tutor at the Sweetland Center for Writing, a Starbucks barista, and a copywriter at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
