Why I Choose to Work at Academic Innovation

I’m passionate about education, research, and technology – so it is a perfect fit for me to join the Academic Innovation team. I know my background in Psychology and Computer Science will benefit me in moving the portfolio forward and helping the team reach long term goals. It is my aim to see the University of Michigan continue to lead the charge in education software innovation.

Current Roles/Previous Experience

As a Software Portfolio Manager, Jessica will utilize her strong background in both research psychology and computer science to help shape the software portfolio and assist the team in driving results. She is a great asset on a team and communicates ideas and results with ease.

Jessica’s background is in both research and clinical psychology, office management, and freelance social media branding. She previously worked in the establishing of a medical practice as a behavioral health counselor and an office manager. The skills she honed in that role will assist her in connecting with the many teams involved in making the Center for Academic Innovation work. As a freelancer, Jessica took on a handful of professional video game personalities and developed and managed their social media presence to increase their social reach. She also spent a number of years doing experimental psychological research spanning both healthful interventions for youth in rural America, and behavioral neuroscience experimentations to propel pharmaceutical technology for both social defeat depression and schizophrenia.
