Professors Nancy Vettorello and Beth Wilenksy flipped their classroom for the Legal Practice course to facilitate instant feedback and in-class analysis. By creating of a set of rich digital media assets that students will engage with prior to attending in-person classes, Professors Vettorello and Wilensky facilitate a flipped classroom model that shifts much of the theoretical instruction to an online format while reserving classroom time for practicing the fundamentals of legal practice. The blended model focuses in-class time on practical exercises, especially writing. This approach enables students to resolve problems and concerns immediately through instant instructor and peer feedback during class, thereby improving their subject comprehension and writing. In addition, these in-class lessons incorporate real-life client exercises that allow them to use a practical approach for learning. These two class components enable engaged class learning and the provision of course materials to be used as a reference for future courses or professional needs.
