The courses from top universities and leading companies will be available at no cost to students, faculty and staff until Dec. 31.

Students received access to the extensive catalog through the Coursera for Campus initiative in mid-June. After the positive early response, center leadership worked to expand free access to faculty and staff, allowing them to enroll in courses, specializations and professional certificates from prestigious institutions including U-M, Yale, Johns Hopkins, Stanford, Google, MoMA and more to allow learners to enhance their education and build professional skills as they enter the job market or look to make a career change.

The initiative provides people with access to professional development opportunities and allows them to build skills and explore their interests, said James DeVaney, associate vice provost for academic innovation and founding executive director of the center.

“This is a way we can support the university’s educational mission and support our broader U-M community as it deals with the coronavirus pandemic and disruption in our professional and personal lives,” DeVaney said.

All that is needed to enroll is a valid U-M email address. Students can access the Coursera catalog through Michigan Online and log in with their existing U-M ID and password.
