Our Graduated Tools

Our work to build tools from their conception, lead them through the early stages of development, and maturity has happened for a number of our tools. Many are now reaching new audiences and their features have been adopted into other initiatives.

Developed to facilitate the creation and delivery of role-playing simulations inside and outside the classroom, ViewPoint transitioned into its next phase of growth in 2023 through a licensing agreement with Summit Venture Studio.

MWrite

MWrite is a write-to-learn platform that helps students connect complex course concepts to real-life problems through writing exercises created by instructors.

This tool transitioned to the university’s ITS Teach and Learning sector in 2017 and is currently managed by the Sweetland Center for Writing.

Sage

Sage provided students with mental health resources following their participation in the Healthy Minds Study at U-M and retired in 2019.

Student Explorer

Student Explorer, launched in 2011, was an early warning system that provided advisors with actionable data based on students’ grades, activity, and assignments, helping advisors facilitate student success.

The tool was officially sunset in 2023, but similar features are being added to ECoach as of 2024.
