Radiation Projection Training Using Realistic XR

Project description

Solving mental puzzles about a situation, through XR experience, will build the confidence of individuals when encountering unknown circumstances while teaching thinking skills to solve problems. Learning through engaging methods such as XR should inform common sense when physically in radiation environments. Learning with XR will permit learning that otherwise would be difficult without physical presence in radiation fields. XR further enables the creation of circumstances which are hoped would never occur in reality.

Learning Goals

Apply common practices to situations involving radiation safety while possessing a basic knowledge of regulations, radiation physics, and applied detectors. Situations include identifying contamination, finding lost sources, solving puzzles involving radiation, and assessing the laboratory to identify violations.
