I am inspired by the commitment of the University of Michigan to innovate and lead in higher education. With a long history of engagement in the public good, the University of Michigan provides many opportunities to extend institutional capacities. My role with Academic Innovation provides an opportunity to be actively engaged in empowering faculty and staff across the institution in the development of new approaches to serve our students and alumni.
David works the University of Michigan Colleges and Schools on the implementation of online and hybrid programs. David has over 20 years of experience working in online learning. Prior to Michigan David implemented over a dozen shared degree programs across the 19 commonwealth campuses of Penn State University as the Director of Collaborative Programs. Prior to Penn State, David served as the Director of Instructional Technology at Southern Polytechnic (now Kennesaw State University) where he managed university wide educational technology operations (Helpdesk, Labs, classrooms, and University web systems) as part of the CIO’s office prior to taking the lead for online learning in academic affairs.
David has dedicated his career to the development of institutional capacity in online learning and is an active member of the Association of Educational Communications and Technology (AECT).
