Why I Choose to Work at Academic Innovation

I consider myself to be a lifelong learner, a passionate supporter of education, a creative problem solver, a skilled designer and researcher, and a growing web developer. Working at Academic Innovation allows me to combine all of those aspects of myself while working with a great group of highly intelligent, enthusiastic, inventive people. I also hold 3 degrees from the University, so both the institution and Ann Arbor are very near and dear to my heart!

Current Roles/Previous Experience

As a User Experience Designer for the Center for Academic Innovation, I specifically focus on projects pertaining to online learning and new residential learning tools. My daily work involves researching how people are using the applications we create and gathering feedback on them, designing new pages and features, and writing frontend code (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript) to bring my designs to life. I also contribute to the professional growth of Academic Innovation student fellows by coordinating and delivering design and frontend development workshops.

Before coming to Academic Innovation as a full-time staff member, I worked for a summer as an Academic Innovation student fellow on the User Experience Design team. Prior to that, I designed websites and print materials for the University of Michigan College of Engineering and taught English in South Korea.
