Media Designer

Why I Choose to Work at Academic Innovation

CAI is a departure from my career path in television and lifestyle entertainment. I chose this new adventure because of my desire for personal and professional growth. I was drawn to CAI because of it’s emphasis on learning, education, and DEI as well the eagerness to explore new frontiers of technology through VR, XR, and responsible use of AI.

Current Roles/Previous Experience

As a Media Designer, Tim McMahon utilizes the state-of-the-art CAI studios and the scenic U of M campus to collaborate with faculty and experts on creating engaging, innovative, and educational video content via online lectures, demonstrations, conversations, and more. Previously, Tim served as a Senior Video Producer and Talent for Buckeye Community Arts Network (BCAN) in Toledo, OH, where he won three Regional Emmy Awards for producing, hosting, shooting, and editing the lifestyle entertainment programs “Four One Nosh,” and “One Tank Travel.” Additionally, Tim produces videos through his LLC, Maple Street Media, and he pursues his passion for performing via voice acting, improv, and stage acting when opportunities arise.
